Deborah Ann Jacks
born March 5th 1956
died August 6th 2008
To all that knew her she was a joy to know and to
be with. She was my right arm, best friend and
companion for the last 12 and a half years and I am
missing her terribly.
She had endless energy, was always dedicated to
the task at hand, and never wanted anything left
unfinished.
I please ask that those who knew her and have
stories they would like to share about her please
email me with them as I build this page.
Deborah was born to Mary Francis and Frank
Nicholas Jacks in Abilene and has an older brother.
She attended Trinity University in San Antonio
Texas and Cooper High School in Abilene Texas.
Her parents preceded her in their deaths and she
has no surviving children.
About her eyes, she had gray green eyes and they
took on the color of whatever happened to be the
dominate color around her. It was about a year
before I figured out what was going on, it was
confusing to think they were brown one day and
then dark blue...I knew they supposed to be green,
but go figure?
When I first met Deborah, was while  attending
middle school in Abilene, Texas. I had a friend who
lived at Dyess down the road from my parents
house on the base who sat behind me in some of
my clasess. We would bet on what she would be
wearing, after watching her for the half of the year
in the seventh grade. Her grandmother would make
her clothes I later found out, and she had a ton of
them. The red blouse and denim skirt she had on
was a favorite of mine, but I only remember her
wearing the combination in Jr High School maybe 6
times.  The dog collars were fashion fad for a while
at the time.
Deborah was a member of Westminster Presbyterian
Church here in Abilene and asked that all and any
memorials to her be made to Meals on Wheels of
Abilene or her Church, as she did.
I will be posting more pictures of her as time goes
by and if you have any of her and want to share
them please send them.
She was laid to rest in the Waterfall Cremation
Garden in the Elliot Hamil Cemetery in Abilene
Texas alongside Hwy 277 on the 15th of August
2008.

Well it has been one year and half and it was
a day like it is today, gloomy and rainy, both
the day she passed and the day she was laid
to rest. Just wanted to share the flowers
that were placed the day she was laid to rest
, and an Image of the marker as it looks now,
as the cover originally placed was blank. The
white roses, they lasted almost 3 weeks,
Everything left since would only last about 5
to 7 days.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels,
  but have not love,
I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have a faith that can move mountains,
  but have not love,
I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,
but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy,
  it does not boast,
  it is not proud.
It is not rude,
  it is not self-seeking,
  it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
  Love never fails.

But where there are prophecies, they will cease;
  where there are tongues, they will be stilled;
where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
  When I was a child,
  I talked like a child,
  I thought like a child,
  I reasoned like a child.

When I became a man,
I put childish ways behind me.

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror;
then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully,
even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain:
  faith, hope and charity.
But the greatest of these is charity
